September Blog! @DB_Comp

With summer pretty much behind us at this stage, and Hallowe’en drawing closer, September has been a very busy month. Not only are plenty of SME’s and indigenous Irish companies now pushing on with committing to deploying solutions to help with various aspects of business process improvement, but also the signs are there that the economy is picking up outside of the Dublin bubble, with more growth and job creation on the horizon.

Unequivocally, August proved to be quite a frustrating month for our sales team with numerous key personnel away on holidays. Since then, things have thankfully picked up. Our support team are flat out delivering support to existing clients and our development team are busy scoping and speccing onsite to determine how best we can help our recently acquired customers.

Stats have shown that nearly 50% of business investments being made by the mid-market are aimed at ways to reduce costs. Through accurate, real-time information about daily operations, companies can make faster, smarter decisions which allow them to reduce operational costs.

The DB range of plug-ins and add-ons for Sage accounts software can help streamline business processes in a number of different ways, and our clients have testified that these have been beneficial to their aims.

For example, our recently developed product Remote Rep for Sage 50 has been trialed successfully with a number of clients, most of whom have come back to add additional users once they have settled down into a usage pattern. Ideal for companies involved in the supply and distribution of consumables, and in as diverse markets as coffee, and engineering supplies. Read more about our field sales solution.

So whether it’s Sage 200, and batch control and traceability are the key aspects to your business. Or whether it’s Sage 50, and nominal ledger, invoicing, and purchasing are crucial elements. Or let’s say you are involved in service management and would like to deploy Sage CRM to track and integrate the work schedules and callouts directly with your invoicing. There are many ways in which we can facilitate helping your company get the most out of your current Sage package.

On a lighter note, a couple of the lads from the DB Cycling team completed the Pieta House 100K cycle last month. They were in good company – the Munster Rugby team also took time out from training to help launch the inaugural charity event, starting at Mungret GAA club.

Stephen and Tommy trekked out and via Adare, Foynes, and Newcastle West did a fantastic job round the route and raised a few bob for a very worthwhile cause.

Pieta House Midwest centre manager, Martin O’Sullivan, said “Our vision is a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance. I’d like to ask people of the Midwest to support this cycle,” he added.

The Pieta 100 National Cycle Weekend raised much needed funds for the nine Pieta House services across the country, as well as raising awareness of the issues of suicide and self-harm. Pieta House hopes that the event will become part of their annual fundraising calendar. Cycles also took place in Cork, Galway and Dublin.

Additionally, yours truly from the sales team also chipped in, doing some well orchestrated pushups for charity along with a few other members of the Ennis Business Network in an event organised by Ozone Health and Fitness – again for a worthwhile cause – this time to raise some money for cancer research.

On the morning itself, between networking and having breakfast, about half of the 30-strong group got down and bashed out 460 pushups between them, in order to raise the €230 which had been pledged, with John Corbett from CSI making the last attempt to ensure we all hit the target, with plenty of energy to spare for the main event at the weekend.
