October Blog from @DB_Comp

With the kids off school for the mid-term break and Halloween just around the corner, October, like September, has been a very busy month. The nights are drawing in and winter is upon us, and Christmas parties are on the horizon for those of us fortunate enough to be invited to them.

On the Sage support and software side of things we are currently in talks with a couple of prestigious potential clients and look forward to bringing our Sage 200 expertise to the table once they give us the nod to help them meet their business requirements. Our account managers are working round the clock on proposals and our business consultants are working overtime on how best to deliver Sage 200 solutions within budget and timescale.

On the IT support side of things it has also been a very busy time. One of our most reliable members of the support team was put under pressure when our client, a busy hotel, had an outage on the internet which meant their credit card machine was offline, and all during a busy wedding with over 250 guests in attendance! But that is why we get called in, because we deliver invaluable support when it is required. No fuss, no drama.

November promises to be an exciting and busy time. Not only are we actively supporting our existing clients, but also we are keen to meet new ones, and thus a delegation from DB will be attending the Meetwest business networking event in Athlone.

Previous successful meets in Cork and Mayo have indicated that this is an exceptional event for the Irish business community and a shoe-in on the calendar for sales and business development people who are keen to meet new faces and network in a proactive and positive environment.

Additionally, yours truly attended the inaugural business networking event at Limerick F.C. last week, and although the SuperBlues ran out losers on the pitch, defeated 2-0 at the hands of Shamrock Rovers, the signs are there that the club will turn around its fortunes with owner Pat O’Sullivan at the helm and with the backing and support of the Limerick business community.

On a lighter note, big congrats go to DB’s Michael O’Callaghan, who completed his third marathon this year in Dublin on the October bank holiday in a super time of 3hr 28min. From all the team at DB – Well done Mike!
